CRMF has worked extensively with the Daughters of Wisom to expand the facilities and services of the Dispensary Antsiramandroso.
It is the only medical facility in rural Toamasina.
The sisters treat a wide variety of medical problems that include malaria, tuberculosis, and diarrheal diseases. They
also travel to outlying villages to administer medications and immunizations. The rural poor walk up to 50 kilometers to reach
the Dispensary and those who can’t walk are carried by family members.
In 2006, CRMF grants have enabled the following improvements:
- Installation of a septic system
- Purchase new equipment inclding microscopes
- Building of a new laboratory for the dispensary
- Creation of a new patient treatment area
