For years our partners in Madagascar have hoped to open a Computer Literacy Center (CLC) in Tamatave, however the
lack of hardware and expensive shipping costs have been prohibitive. This fall, with the help of multiple organizations,
that dream became a reality. Through the donation of computers, time, and financial support, CRMF opened the first computer
literacy center in the country!
- The CLC is now open and classes have begun.
- Students work from 70 rehabbed computers that include spreadsheet and word processing programs installed by the volunteers
at the Cincinnati Computer Cooperative.
- CRMF has provided funding to hire additional teachers for these centers.
- Two additional centers are scheduled to open in December, 2006.
- The crate containing the computers also included school supplies, clothing and first aid materials.
Thak you to everyone who helped make this dream a reality!
