"Partners with the poor in one of the world's poorest countries."
Our new Mother-Baby Care initiative
The limited availability of maternal
and neo-natal healthcare is one of the greatest obstacles for Madagascar in reaching the Madagascar Action Plan goal of improving
women's healthcare. In response to this need, CRMF is partnering with By The Holy Spirit, a non-profit organization
comprised of doctors and nurses seeking to bring advanced medical care to the developing world. We began our partnership with a series
of medical clinics in Madagascar in 2007. This partnership has formed the foundation for a new initiative designed
to work with local health professionals to identify and address the critical problems that women face during pregnancy, delivery,
and the neo-natal period. The project is in its preliminary stages of identifying the root causes of the problems with
a goal of providing long-term sustainable solutions.
